Fantasy Football: Boom, bust performances to consider ahead of Week 15

  • Michael Wilson could be a league-winner: The Cardinals wide receiver is averaging more than 30 PPR points per game when Marvin Harrison Jr. sits. He’s been a late-season cheat code and should still command meaningful volume once Harrison returns.
  • Tyler Warren is slowing down, and the Colts have questions at quarterback: After serving as fantasy football's TE4 over Weeks 1-8, he is just the TE14 since Week 9. With Daniel Jones out and a rough fantasy playoff slate ahead, expectations need to stay realistic.

Fantasy football is a fickle game. One week, your stars are surpassing expectations and vaulting you to a glorious win. The next, you're left astonished at just how your lineup failed so miserably.

Each week, we're highlighting the best and worst fantasy showings, as well as breaking down how to view them when setting your future lineups.

BOOMS

WR Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals

Death, taxes and Michael Wilson finishing as the PPR WR1 when Marvin Harrison Jr. is sidelined.

Wilson is averaging more than 30 PPR points per game when Harrison is not in the lineup and has likely carried some fantasy managers over the final stretch of the regular season. His volume may not last once Harrison returns to the lineup, but he has been effective enough that he should still produce a strong target rate from Jacoby Brissett.

Temperature Check: Top-5 PPR wide receiver without Harrison; High-Ceiling WR2 with Harrison

RB RJ Harvey, Denver Broncos

Harvey is getting hot just in time for the fantasy playoffs, having recorded 20-plus PPR points in back-to-back outings.

The rookie posted 100 total yards, a touchdown and six receptions in Week 14 against the Raiders, although it was another game where Denver was in full control of the game script against a weak run defense.

Things get a lot more serious over the next three weeks, with the Broncos facing the Packers, Jaguars and Chiefs. That profiles as the sixth-hardest fantasy playoff strength of schedule. So, while the highs have been great, expect some regression for Harvey and be cautious of plugging him into lineups.

Temperature Check: Low-end RB2 rest of season

TE Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns

David Njoku played just six snaps in Week 14 before leaving with an injury, which helped Fannin explode for 25.4 PPR points. Without Njoku in the lineup, Fannin saw a 33.3% adjusted target rate, the top mark among Browns pass catchers,

If Njoku is to miss any time with this knee injury, Fannin could be a league-winner throughout the fantasy playoffs, especially if quarterback Shedeur Sanders is going to continue giving him a 30% target rate.

The Browns have one of the toughest schedules for tight ends throughout the playoffs, but Fannin's volume alone should be enough to make you confident in starting him.

Temperature Check: Mid-tier TE1

BUSTS

TE Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts

It’s been a tale of two halves of the season for Tyler Warren. From Weeks 1-8, he was the PPR TE4. From Weeks 9-14, he has been the TE14, averaging only 10 fantasy points per game.

This is a direct result of the Colts' schedule strength flipping. And now, quarterback Daniel Jones will miss the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles in Week 14.

It’s difficult to be optimistic about Warren's situation, given Indianapolis' quarterback dilemma and schedule through the fantasy playoffs.

Temperature Check: Pick-your-spot TE1; Weekly TE2

RB Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders

The rookie running back endured another disappointing week after a fairly strong five-game stretch during which he delivered 16.3 points per outing.

The Denver Broncos' defensive line ensured he could not get anything going on the ground, which has been a common theme this season. Jeanty remains one of only two running backs with more than 150 carries but fewer than 100 yards before contact in 2025. The Raiders' offensive line is providing few holes for him, making him difficult to trust in fantasy lineups.

Temperature Check: Low-tier RB2

WR George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys

Week 14 marked Pickens' first sub-10-point performance since Week 1 — not ideal timing for fantasy managers making a last-ditch effort to make the playoffs.

Pickens turned a healthy nine targets into only five receptions for 37 yards. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott tends to lock onto the hot hand, and CeeDee Lamb was that player against the Lions, as he hauled in eight passes for 121 yards before leaving the game with a concussion.

There is no reason to panic about Pickens heading into the fantasy playoffs. The Cowboys have the second-easiest fantasy playoff schedule for wide receivers.

Temperature Check: Mid-tier WR1
