  • The Houston Texans traded up in the draft Thursday to be able to select Clemson QB Deshaun Watson at 12th overall.
  • Watson’s accuracy must have been attractive to Bill O’Brien, as he ranked third in the class with an adjusted completion percentage of 76.1.
  • One of Watson’s greatest asset is his touch on downfield throws; he tossed 14 touchdowns on 20-plus-yard passes, while ranking second in the class in accuracy percentage on 20- to 30-yard throws.
  • Houston appear an interesting fit for Watson, who will need some time to adjust from a spread attack to Bill O’Brien’s pro-style offense.
  • The Texans were desperate for a quarterback, having already given up on Brock Osweiler (who they traded in a salary cap dump to the Browns). Tom Savage was the only other serviceable quarterback on the roster.
