Tape, stats suggest Forrest Lamp can play LT despite arm length

  • Forrest Lamp’s arm length measured in at 32.25 inches at the NFL Combine, up from 31.13 at the Senior Bowl – but crucially below the NFL’s preferred threshold of 33 inches in both instances.
  • The NFL now sees Lamp as a guard or center, effectively believing his arm length precludes him from playing left tackle at the next level.
  • In 12 games in the 2016 season, Lamp allowed zero sacks, one penalty, and four total QB pressures in 415 pass-blocking snaps for the top pass-blocking efficiency mark in the nation (99.3).
  • He had nine perfect games of pass protection during the 2016 season.
  • At the Senior Bowl, Lamp was perfect in pass protection in the game, playing 10 of 13 snaps at LT. In practice during the week, he surrendered no pressure during team drills, but missed time injured during one-on-ones.
