- Following in his older brother’s footsteps, Utah defensive tackle Lowell Lotulelei is among the best run defenders in the 2018 draft class as seen by his ranking of No. 15 in run stop percentage (9.3) among draft-eligible interior defenders.
- The 6-foot-2, 320-pound gap-eater brought a high level of consistency to the Utes’ trenches, posting the seventh-lowest percentage of negatively graded plays against the run in 2016.
- Lotulelei amassed 20 run stops on just 215 defensive snaps against the run, the most of any returning Pac-12 interior defender with less than 240 defensive run snaps.
- If he is going to truly live up to his heritage at the next level, Lotulelei will need to extend his success against the run into some production on passing downs. He ranked No. 193 in pass-rush productivity (2.3) among draft-eligible interior defenders in 2016.
