- Michigan senior edge defender Chase Winovich, a former tight end for the Wolverines, flashed noteworthy potential in a limited role on the defensive side of the ball last season. His 79.3 overall grade ranked No. 2 among all Power 5 edge defenders with less than 300 defensive snaps in 2016.
- Winovich amassed 17 defensive stops, ranking No. 3 among that same group of edge defenders.
- Recording 14 quarterback hurries, eight quarterback hits and six sacks, Winovich ranked No. 5 in pass-rush productivity (14.4) among draft-eligible edge defenders last season.
- Impressively enough, Winovich recorded an outside pressure once every 13 rushes in 2016, which ranked No. 7 in the 2018 draft class.
