- Virginia Tech has earned a reputation for putting defensive backs in the NFL, and junior Adonis Alexander could be next in line.
- Playing 665 snaps in 2016 as a sophomore, the 6-foot-3 195-pound Alexander recorded an overall grade of 77.5.
- Among returning ACC cornerbacks that were targeted 30 or more times in 2016, Alexander's completion percentage allowed of 46.2 percent ranked fourth-best. He also showed the ability to play the run as his run-stop percentage of 3.1 percent is No. 2 among returning ACC corners.
- Alexander's 13.7 attempted tackles per missed tackle rank No. 3 among ACC corners returning in 2017. Due to his sound tackling and size, he could be viewed as a safety at the next level for some NFL schemes.
