Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins was sharp once again this week, continuing what has been arguably the best season of his career. He made several tight-window throws, but the highlight of the night came on a deep ball to Stefon Diggs that set up a Mike Boone touchdown.

Dalvin Cook went down with what appeared to be a shoulder injury. His shoulder has given him some issues over the past few weeks, and he seemed to be in some pain tonight. Before getting hurt, Cook struggled as a runner but managed some positive receiving plays.

Danielle Hunter forced a fumble from Melvin Gordon III in the first quarter and it was recovered by Harrison Smith, which led to a Vikings' field goal. Hunter also picked up a strip-sack of Phillip Rivers late in the second quarter after bull-rushing Sam Tevi back into the pocket.

Eric Kendricks forced a fumble from Hunter Henry in the fourth quarter that Trae Waynes was able to recover for the Vikings. Mike Hughes had a fourth-quarter interception of Phillip Rivers as he jumped high in front of a pass intended for Mike Williams down the sideline.

Los Angeles Chargers

Philip Rivers turned in an ugly performance against the Vikings’ defense. He threw multiple interceptions, and the Chargers weren’t able to score another touchdown outside of the Rivers-to-Mike Williams fade in the second quarter.

Mike Williams scored the lone touchdown for the Chargers on an end-zone fade route. Williams used his big frame, long arms and impressive vertical leaping ability to come down the with the touchdown catch. Unfortunately, the Chargers' offense turned the ball over too many times for them to remain competitive in the game.

Joey Bosa was chipped and doubled for most of the day and struggled to make a significant impact, which continued in the second half as the Vikings switched to a run-heavy gameplan.

Derwin James, who recently returned from injury, had a mixed performance today that included some patented physical plays but also an early touchdown catch that he allowed to rookie right end Irv Smith Jr.
