Arizona Cardinals Designate WR Marquise Brown To Return From IR

  • Brown has missed the past month due to a foot injury that was initially feared to be season-ending. Arizona will have the option to activate him before Monday night’s game against San Francisco.
  • Brown has been the Cardinals’ top receiving option and ranked fourth in targets (61), fifth in receptions (43) and ninth in explosive receptions (11) among all receivers before the injury. He’s earned a 76.2 receiving grade.
  • When Brown does return, he’ll be alongside DeAndre Hopkins, who was suspended for the first six games to start the year. It will be the first time they’ve been on the field at the same time.

Philadelphia Eagles Sign Veteran DT Linval Joseph

  • Joseph sat out the start of this season after spending the past two years with the Los Angeles Chargers.
  • Joseph has long been one of the NFL’s premier nose tackles, and while his 63.1 overall and 49.3 run-defense grades in 2021 were by far his lowest since 2011, he earned a career-best 83.0 pass-rush grade.
  • The Eagles have been without space-eating rookie Jordan Davis due to an ankle injury and, as a result, allowed 168 rushing yards to the Houston Texans in Week 9 and 152 yards to the Washington Commanders on Monday night. Davis will be eligible to return in Week 12.

Philadelphia Eagles Place TE Dallas Goedert On Injured Reserve

  • Goedert suffered the injury on Monday night and will now miss at least the next four games.
  • Goedert is second on the team in receiving yards (544) and is tied for second in receiving touchdowns with three. His 77.2 PFF grade and 81.2 receiving grade both rank fourth among qualifying tight ends.
  • Rookie Grant Calcaterra will likely see an increased role with Goedert out, as will second-year tight end Jack Stoll. The Eagles also activated Tyree Jackson to return from injured reserve.

Washington Commanders Sticking With Taylor Heinicke This Week

  • The Commanders have gone 3-1 with Heinicke starting, including an upset win over the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.
  • His numbers haven’t been overly impressive, completing 75-of-121 passes for 840 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. He’s earned a 51.0 PFF grade.
  • Carson Wentz is eligible to be activated off injured reserve and has been cleared to throw, but the team has not decided what they’ll do with him.
  • The Commanders (-3.5) travel to Houston to take on the Texans this week.

New Orleans Saints Sticking With Andy Dalton At QB

  • Dalton has started the past seven games for the Saints, but head coach Dennis Allen hinted that they might look to make a change after Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • Allen said today they discussed everything as a staff and concluded that Dalton should remain the starter over Jameis Winston.
  • New Orleans is 2-5 during this stretch with Dalton. He has gone 141-of-217 for 1,559 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He’s earned an 80.9 PFF grade.
  • The Saints (-4.5) are set to host the Los Angeles Rams this week.

Houston Texans Claim Former Green Bay Packers WR Amari Rodgers

  • Houston had the top priority on the waiver wire, and they used it to add Rodgers, who was a third-round pick just last year.
  • Green Bay waived Rodgers on Tuesday after he fumbled for a fifth time on the season. He’s caught just eight balls for 95 yards in 26 career games.
  • Houston will inherit the final two-and-a-half years of his rookie contract. The Texans' receiving corps is led by Brandin Cooks, who has 391 yards receiving, and Nico Collins, who has 354 yards.
