Fantasy Football: 5 to Waiver Wire Add, 5 to Drop, 5 to Buy Low, 5 to Sell High

After a great opening week, the NFL was hit hard by injuries in Week 2. There will be a lot of waiver wire movement this week as everyone tries to add replacements for injured players. There are some popular replacements for the top-tier running backs, but also plenty of additions that are more under the radar. While it will be important to know which players to add, it’s also helpful to realize which players it's time to toss back into the free agent pool in favor of someone who can help now.

In the scramble to add players, it's never too early in the season to start trading. There are plenty of players who either had a bad week or bad two weeks but can rebound. There are also players who have played well whose value might never be higher in a trade. Here are five players that fit into each of those categories.

Five Players to Add

1. RB Jeff Wilson Jr., San Francisco 49ers

Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley were the biggest injuries at running back, but San Francisco saw both Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman leave the game early. Jerick McKinnon had a 55-yard run late against the Jets, which makes him look an attractive option, but it was Jeff Wilson Jr. who played the early down role when both went down. Wilson was the 49ers' fourth running back last year, but had the second-highest rushing grade at 73.5 on a smaller sample size. If both backs miss time, he would be the one seeing the majority of carries.

2. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Green Bay Packers

Valdes-Scantling has had a big role in the Packers offense since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2018 draft, but this year his role has expanded. He longer has Jake Kumerow or Geronimo Allison to compete with for playing time. Because of that, only three receivers ran a pass route for the Packers in Week 1, and Malik Taylor only started seeing playing time when Davante Adams was injured. MVS had the second most targets for the team in each of the first two weeks. He should continue producing at a high level with the targets he’s seeing and how well Aaron Rodgers is playing.
